LimoPages makes a website, and a small online shop if you want one, from ready-made sections in your browser. You sign in with your Limo Tools account (the same as LimoStudio, LimoNote and LimoAudio), pick sections, write your own words, add pictures and products, and publish to a free address at name.limo.page. Your own domain connects when you are ready, Finnish payment methods are built in, and an AI helps with sections, looks and text. This manual covers everything in the dashboard and the editor. The same words open in Finnish at limopages.app/manual/.
Quick start
- Sign in at limopages.app with your Limo Tools account. The account is free, and so is a site at name.limo.page; own domains, mailboxes and online payments come with a package (see Plans and limits).
- Create a site — give it a name, choose its language and tick This site sells things (shop) if it does. The editor opens with a home page, an About page and a Contact page already in place.
- Write your own words — press Edit in the top bar and click anything in the page on the right: its settings open on the left. Add sections with Add section, pictures with Choose image.
- Choose a web address in Site settings › Web address and press Publish. The site is live at name.limo.page at once.
Getting started
Sign in
LimoPages uses your Limo Apps account: the same sign-in and the same AI credits as LimoNote, LimoStudio and the LimoAudio plugins. Open limopages.app, press Open LimoPages and then Sign in. You are taken to LimoNote to sign in with Google, Apple or an email code, and brought straight back. No account yet? One is made for you on the way, for free.
Sign out is at the top right of the dashboard. Signing out of LimoPages does not sign you out of LimoNote.
Your sites
The dashboard at limopages.app/app/ lists Your sites: each card shows the site's name, its web address or No web address yet, whether it is Published or Not published, and a Shop badge when the shop is on. Edit opens the editor; Domains, on the cards of sites you own, opens the site's domains (see Connect your own domain); View site opens the live site in a new tab. The bin icon deletes a site: you type the site's name to confirm, the site and its files are removed and its address is freed. This cannot be undone.
A site that still has Next steps open says how far it is — Getting started: 3/7 done — and the line opens them; it is gone when all are done or Start is hidden. A published site's card also says its last 7 days — 120 page views · 45 visitors in 7 days — and Visits opens its numbers: page views and visitors per day for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, the most opened pages, where people came from (Google, Instagram, another site, or directly), countries and devices. They are counted without cookies or IP addresses, so your site needs no cookie banner for them: a visitor is recognised for one day only (so visitors are different people each day, added up), robots and link previews are left out, and the numbers are kept for three months. Your own visits count too. Everyone who works on the site can see them.
Sites other people have invited you to are listed under Shared with you with your role on them; Leave takes you off such a site. See People.
The dashboard and the editor speak English or Finnish: the English / Suomeksi button at the top switches, and the choice is remembered in your browser. The moon button switches the dashboard and editor between light and dark. Neither changes your site.
Create a site
New site at the bottom of the dashboard asks for a few things:
- What is the site for? — a ready setup makes the first pages for you, with sample texts and pictures to replace: Blog or writer (latest posts first, a newsletter sign-up, an About page; the Journal theme), Photographer or visual artist (big pictures, a portfolio; Studio), Social media creator (link in bio) (one page with your photo, a short bio, your social icons and big buttons; Pop), Artist or musician (works, upcoming events and gigs; Studio), Small online shop (the Kauppa theme with the shop on, About and Contact), Services or consultant (services, a price list, kind words from clients, a booking form with opening hours; Starter) Restaurant or café (the menu, opening hours, pictures, table bookings; Bistro) and Association or club (what you do, upcoming events, the board, a membership form and news by email; Starter). It picks a theme and the shop switch for you; both can be changed below. Basic website, the default, is the theme's own start: a home page, About and Contact. A Finnish site gets Finnish page addresses (/yhteystiedot, /ruokalista).
- Name — shown in the browser tab, the header and search results. You can change it later in Site settings.
- Tell about the site (optional) — a sentence or two, like a café by the market square in Lahti: lunch on weekdays, cakes we bake ourselves. The editor then opens on Write the starting texts with AI with it filled in; nothing is spent until you press Write the texts there.
- Language of the site — Finnish, English or Swedish. This is the language of the site's own words: the cart, the contact form's labels, "Read more". The theme has these words in Finnish and English. Your own texts are whatever you write.
- This site sells things (shop) — turns the shop on from the start. It can also be turned on or off later in Shop › Settings.
- Theme — the site's look, with a picture of each theme to choose from. You can change it later: see Change theme.
Create site opens the editor. A plain new site starts with a home page, an About page, a Contact page with a contact form, a main menu and a footer, all filled with sample words for you to replace; a ready setup starts with its own pages and menu. On the free plan an account owns up to 3 sites; sites shared with you do not count.
Next steps
A site that is not published yet opens on Next steps (Start at the top of the rail): what it still misses, read from the site itself — your own pictures (how many picture places are still empty), your own texts (sections that still have sample text), social media links, products and a way to pay (with the shop on: bank transfer counts once your account number is in), a first blog post (with the blog on), the web address, publishing, and — if you like — your own domain. Go there opens the place where the step is done: the section on its page, or the panel. The list ticks itself as you work; the bar shows how far you are. With AI on the texts step writes the sample texts for your business from a sentence (see AI). Hide in the panel's heading takes Start off the rail for this site, in this browser; bring it back in Site settings › Editor (editors: People › Editor).
The editor
The layout
The editor has four parts:
- The top bar — back and forward, the page you are editing, full view, the screen size, Edit, the save status, undo, redo and discard, View site and Publish.
- The rail on the left — one button per panel, its name under it. What you change often comes first: Sections, Pages, Shop and Blog (when they are on), Menus (the Navigation panel) and Files; under a line, what is set once: Theme, Site settings, People and Publish; at the foot, Help opens this manual. A shop or blog that is switched off waits in the lower group, where you switch it on. The editor remembers which panel you had open.
- The panel — the settings of what you are working on.
- The preview on the right — the page, rendered exactly as the live site renders it. The divider between the panel and the preview can be dragged.
An editor (the role, see Roles) does not see Site settings.
The top bar
- The page menu chooses what the preview shows: one of the site's Pages, or one of the Page templates — the product page, the product list, the cart and checkout, the order confirmation, the blog and blog post pages, and the Page not found page. A template is the layout every page of that kind shares; the preview fills it with a real product, post or a sample order.
- Back and forward (the arrows left of the page menu, or ⌘[ and ⌘] — Alt+← and Alt+→ on Windows) walk through the pages you have looked at in the preview, like a browser's, each where you left it.
- The browser's address names the page on your site and the panel you have open — for example …&path=/products/mug&panel=shop — so you can send it to someone who works on the site. Copy the page's address (the chain button beside the page menu) copies the page's address on your site — the one View site opens, such as https://www.yoursite.fi/products/mug — to paste into a link in a text or a menu. Its message offers Copy the editor link instead, which also takes along the section you have chosen or the product open in Shop. A page that is only in your changes says it works once you publish.
- Screen size shows the page as a computer, a tablet or a phone would.
- Full view (the button with four corners, left of the screen sizes) hides the rail and the panel: only the top bar and the site are left, so you can browse and test the site as a visitor does — menus, links, search and the cart work, at any screen size. Press it again, press Esc or press Edit to get the panels back.
- Edit — the preview starts as the site works for a visitor: links, the phone menu and buttons work, so you can walk to the page you want to change (the page menu follows). Press Edit and a click in the page selects that part and opens it on the left; press it again to browse. Choosing a section in the Sections list turns Edit on too. The shop works while you browse: add to the cart, change amounts, pick a delivery and see the prices, search from the header — all from your unpublished changes. Orders are not placed from the preview (the checkout says so), and other forms are not sent: try those on the published site.
- Saved / Saving… / Unsaved changes tells you where the draft is. Not saved: … names a problem in the page that must be fixed before the draft can be stored. Not saved — retrying means the connection dropped; the editor keeps trying.
- Undo and Redo (⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z, or Ctrl on Windows) step through everything you changed in this editor session, including AI changes and deleted sections. A small message says what was undone, and the editor shows the page and section it happened in.
- Discard changes since the last publish (the round arrow right of Redo) puts the published version back into the editor: pages, sections, menus, the theme and the settings. Products, posts and files stay as they are — they are live when saved. It is one step: Undo brings your changes back.
- View site opens the page you are looking at on the published site (a page that is not published yet is not there: use the private preview). Publish makes your draft the live site — see Publish and versions.
On a phone or a tablet
The editor works in every browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on a Mac, an iPad and an iPhone too.
On a phone the page fills the screen and the panels come up from below:
- The tab bar at the foot: Page shows the page alone; Sections, Shop (or Blog) and Menus open their panel; More has the other panels — Next steps, Pages, Files, Theme, Site settings, People, Publish — and this manual.
- The panel comes up as a sheet. At half height the page stays above it and follows every change. The button with four corners gives the panel the whole screen and the page back; the arrow puts the panel away. You can also drag the sheet by its handle.
- Edit, then a tap on a part of the page: it opens at half height, marked in the page with its buttons (move, hide, copy, delete). Tap the field to type.
- The top bar keeps the page menu, Edit, Undo and Publish. The ⋯ button holds the save status, back and forward, redo, discard changes, View site, copying the page's address and light / dark. A dot on ⋯ means the site is under construction or the cart is closed.
Turn the phone sideways, or use a tablet, and the editor is laid out as on a computer, with the rail on the left; on a narrow tablet the top bar's ⋯ holds what has no room.
Saving, drafts and conflicts
Everything you change is saved as a draft a moment after you change it. The draft is yours to work on for as long as you like; visitors see the last version you published. Closing the browser loses nothing.
If the site is open in two windows, or two people edit it at the same time, the later save finds the draft changed and the editor asks: Load theirs throws away your unsaved changes in this window and shows the other version; Keep mine saves your version over theirs. There is no live co-editing yet, so agree on who edits what. Products, posts and the site's pages are separate documents, so one person can write posts while another edits pages.
Pages
Pages and page templates
Pages lists the site's own pages: the home page and every page you add. Select a page to change its Page name, its Address and its search settings; the page menu in the top bar switches the preview to it.
New pages come from a Starting template: Page (a text page) or Contact page (text and a contact form). The shop and blog pages are not in this list: they are page templates, edited from the page menu, and the site fills them with products and posts. A page of your own at the address /shop or /blog replaces the built-in one.
Add, move and delete a page
- Add page, at the top of the list — give it a name, choose a starting template, press Create page. The address is made from the name. The search beside it finds a page by its name or address.
- Address — lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, for example /our-story. When you change the address of a page that was already published, LimoPages adds a redirect from the old address to the new one, so old links keep working.
- Duplicate copies a page with all its sections. Delete asks first; a deleted page's address stops answering (add a redirect if it was linked somewhere).
- Layout editing on this page — on, the page's sections can be moved, added, hidden and deleted; off, their texts, pictures and items still change but the layout stays as it is. See Edit a section.
A site can have 200 pages, each with up to 25 sections.
Search engines and sharing
Under Search engines and sharing every page has a Title in search results (empty = the page name and the site name), a Description in search results, a Picture when shared on social media and messaging apps, and Hide from search engines for a page that should not be listed. Posts and products have the same settings on their own forms. Whether the whole site is listed at all is a site setting: Show in search engines.
On top of that, every page tells search engines about itself with no setting (schema.org structured data): the home page the site and the business (the name, the logo, the social media links and, in a shop, Your business; with an address and an Opening hours section it is a place to visit, with its hours), a product page the product's price, stock, delivery and return window (see Search engines and Google), a post its date and author, and every page its path (Home › Shop › Mugs). A shared link shows the site's name and a product's price. Opening hours are read from rows like Mon–Fri 9–17 and Sun Closed; when a row is not like that, no hours are told at all. Google's Rich Results Test shows what Google reads from a page.
Sections
A page is a stack of sections. The Sections panel lists them in order, with the Header and the Footer pinned at the top and bottom, and shows the selected section's settings.
Add a section
Add section, at the top of the Sections list, opens the picker. Sections are grouped into Basics, Content, Pictures and Shop; Search sections finds one by name, and Your sections holds the ones the AI has made for this site. Pick a section and it is added at the end of the page, before the footer, filled with sample words and opened. To put it somewhere else, right click a section in the list and choose Add a section after this…. Many sections come in more than one preset, for example a hero with the picture behind the text or beside it.
Create with AI at the top of the picker makes a section that does not exist yet from a description — see AI.
The sections
| Section | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Hero | The big opening of a page: an eyebrow line, a heading, a text, a picture behind or beside the words, up to two buttons. Layout, tone, overlay, height and alignment. |
| Text | A heading and formatted text, optionally with a button. Width and alignment. |
| Image with text | A picture on one side and words on the other. |
| Features | Up to 8 items with an icon, a title, a text and a link, in columns. |
| Gallery | Up to 36 pictures with captions and links; columns, gap and shape. A picture without a link opens big on top of the page, with its caption; the arrows, the arrow keys or a swipe go through the gallery. |
| Testimonials | Up to 9 quotes with a name, a role and a photo. |
| Questions and answers | Up to 30 questions that open to show their answer. |
| Logos | Up to 40 logos, in colour or grey, with links. |
| Call to action | A heading, a line of text and one button. |
| Contact form | A form visitors fill in: your own fields, a button, a thank-you text, the address the messages go to. See Forms and messages. |
| Featured products | Products from one collection, with a View all link. Shop only. |
| Collection tiles | Up to 48 collections as tiles, with counts and a search box. Shop only. |
| Latest blog posts | The newest posts on any page, with pictures, excerpts and dates. Blog only. |

| Events | Dated events — exhibitions, gigs, courses — with the time, the place, a text and a ticket or sign-up button. The date is written as you want it shown. |
| Price list | A price list or a menu: group headings and lines with a name, a short description and a price as text ("from 45 €"); one or two columns, a note and a button. |
| Opening hours | Days and hours, a note for holidays, and a side panel for the address and phone. |
| Team | People of a team or a board: a photo (or their initial until there is one), name, role, a few words, and an email and a phone that open as links. Round photos, portraits or squares, 2–4 columns. |
| Newsletter sign-up | An email field (and a name, if you ask for it) and a button. Visitors confirm from a mail we send them, then they are on your list: see Newsletter sign-ups. |
| Announcement bar | A line above the header: up to 3 messages with a link and an icon. |
| Header | The logo, the site name, the main menu, the cart and social icons. On every page. |
| Footer | Up to 4 blocks: a text, a menu or your contact details; a copyright line and social icons. On every page. |
The page templates have sections of their own — Product, Product list, Cart and checkout, Order confirmation, Blog posts, Blog post and Page not found — that lay out what the site fills in. Their settings choose, for example, where the product's pictures sit, how many products a page shows, and whether a post shows its date and author.
Edit a section
Press Edit in the top bar, then point at the page in the preview: a light outline shows the part under the pointer. Click it to select it: it gets a border and a label that names it (Hero › Heading, Product: Mug › Price, Main menu › Shop), and its section or item gets a small toolbar at the top right with Move up, Move down, Hide, Duplicate and Delete. The selection stays while you move the mouse; after a move its toolbar stays under the pointer, so you can press again. Esc leaves a field, and a second Esc clears the selection. Over a text, a blue pen comes to the top right of the outline: it opens the text straight in the large view (Esc or ✕ closes it, and the text is kept). Over a link, an arrow comes there (on a short link's top corner; with the pointer on it, the link's address shows beside it): it opens the link's page in the preview with Edit still on (⌘-click does the same, Ctrl-click on Windows); a link to another site opens in a new tab. The same buttons sit in the corner of the selected part too, finger-sized on a phone. The editor opens what you clicked with its field ready to type: a section's setting in Sections, a product, collection or post in Shop or Blog, a menu link in Navigation, the social media links in Theme. You can also select a section in the list: its settings open — texts, pictures, colours, choices, switches. Changes show in the preview as you type, and ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z undoes even right after a click in the preview. A section with repeated parts — the features, the pictures of a gallery, the questions — has an Items list under its settings:
- Add adds an item — right before the open one, or at the end when none is open; Add images makes one item from each picture you pick.
- Select an item to edit it. The arrows move it; Duplicate and Delete do what they say.
- Tick items to change many at once — or ⇧-click to tick a range, ⌘-click (Ctrl-click) to add one more — then Set a field… writes one value into all of them, Copy or Cut them, or Delete them. Sort A–Z is in the ⋯ menu.
The ⋯ on a section in the list — or a right click on it — offers Copy section, Cut section, Paste section before and after, Duplicate, Change with AI…, Move up, Move down, Move to the top or bottom, Hide (the section stays in the page but is not shown) and Delete. Sections can also be dragged into a new order. A copied section can be pasted on any page of the site.
Right click any list. Every row in the editor's lists — sections, items, menu links, products, collections, posts, redirects — has a menu on a right click (or ⇧F10): Open, Cut, Copy, Paste before and Paste after, Duplicate, the moves and Delete. With several rows ticked, the menu acts on all of them. A cut row stays faded until you paste it — it moves then — so nothing is lost if you never paste. Copies paste into a list of the same kind in this site, even in another editor tab. Every delete asks first. The keyboard works too: ↑ and ↓ go from row to row, Enter opens, Space ticks, ⌥↑ and ⌥↓ (Alt) move the row, ⌘C, ⌘X and ⌘V (Ctrl) copy, cut and paste, and Delete deletes.
The layout lock. The top of the Sections list says whether the page's layout is open. Locked, texts, pictures and items can be edited but the sections stay where they are: no toolbar on the sections in the page and no dragging, hiding, adding or deleting — safer for everyday editing. Open the layout brings the tools back and Lock puts them away; the same switch is in Pages as Layout editing on this page. Owners and admins open and lock the layout. New pages start open; pages made before the lock existed start locked.
Header, footer and the announcement bar
The header and the footer are shared by every page: change them once. The Header has a logo picture and its width, a text next to it, which menu it shows, the layout, a sticky switch to keep it on screen while scrolling, the cart button and social icons, and its colours. The Footer takes up to four blocks — a text with a heading, a menu, or one block of contact details with an email, a phone and an address — plus a copyright line and the social icons. The social icons point where Theme › Social media says.
An Announcement bar sits above the header with up to three messages, for example free delivery over a certain amount or your opening hours.
Text and formatting
Longer texts — the text of a page, product and collection descriptions, blog posts — are written in a text box that shows the text as it will look on the site. Select words and use the toolbar: the style menu (Text, Heading, Subheading, Small heading, Quote), Bold (⌘B), Italic (⌘I), Strikethrough, Text colour, List, Numbered list, Link (⌘K or Ctrl+K), Image from your files and Insert — a YouTube video, a Table, a Horizontal line or Clear formatting — and at its end Write with AI, Markdown (<>), Undo, Redo and the large view. With only the caret inside a word, Bold, Italic and Strikethrough change the whole word; at the end of a word they apply to what you type next. Typing works as it does elsewhere: Enter starts a new paragraph, Shift+Enter a new line in the same paragraph or list item, and Tab in a list makes a sub-item. A dash and a space at the start of a line start a list, "1. " a numbered list, "## " a heading and "> " a quote.
Undo and Redo near the end of the toolbar take back and redo what was typed and formatted in that text box (⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z do the same; on a phone the buttons are the way). The top bar's Undo is for the site's changes. Product, collection and post texts are saved as you type, so for them the text box's own Undo is the one there is.
The large view. The last button on the toolbar (four arrows), or the same button beside the text box's name, opens the text in a large window on top of the editor — on a phone the whole screen — for writing a longer text in peace. Esc, ✕ or the button again bring it back to the panel; everything typed is kept. For more room in the panel itself, drag the bar between the panel and the page (the width is kept in this browser), or choose Site settings › Editor › Panel width: Narrow, Default or Wide.
The order of a list. Point at an item of a list and a grip (⋮⋮) appears over its bullet or number — on a phone, tap the item first. Drag the grip up or down to move the item (its sub-items go with it); a line shows where it lands. Click the grip for its menu: Move up, Move down, To the top, To the bottom, Make it a sub-item, Back to the main level and Delete the item. With the caret in an item, ⌥↑ and ⌥↓ (Alt+↑ and Alt+↓) move it too. Each move is one step for Undo.
The path bar. With a text open in the large view (the four arrows in its toolbar), the row at its foot shows where the cursor is: for example Text › Paragraph › Bold › Link. Click a part to select it — a paragraph's words, the bold words, a link or a picture. Right-click a part, or the ▾ beside it, for its menu: Cut, Copy, Paste before, Paste after and Duplicate move and copy whole paragraphs, headings, lists and tables; Change to makes a paragraph a heading or a quote, and a heading a paragraph again; Make the quote into paragraphs and Make the list into paragraphs turn them into plain paragraphs; Remove bold (and italic, strikethrough, link and colour) takes the formatting off; Delete removes the part. A list item's menu also has its moves, and Paste as sub-items puts what you copied under it; a table cell's menu has the rows and columns. What you copy can be pasted into another text of the same site too, or with ⌘V (Ctrl+V) into any text. Each change is one step for Undo. If you don't need the bar, hide it in Site settings › Editor › Show the path bar in a text's large view.
Links. Select words and press Link: the words are the link's Text, and its Address is typed — a web address, a page of the site such as /about, an email or a phone number — or chosen with Choose a page… (a page, product, collection or post of the site) or Choose a file…. The dialog says under the address where the link goes. With the caret in a link, a small bar shows where it goes (click it to open that page), Edit and Remove link.
Pictures and tables. Click a picture in the text for its bar: Make it a link… turns the picture into a link, Size makes it smaller (Original size, 25 %, 50 %, 75 %, Full width, or Custom…: a percentage of the text's width like 40% or pixels like 300px) — or drag the square at the picture's corner (in 5 % steps), Alt text… says what it shows (read aloud to people who cannot see it, and used by search engines), Replace picks another from your files and Remove takes it out. A picture can sit among the words of a sentence or on a line of its own, and you can drag it to another place in the text (⌘Z twice puts it back). Insert › Table… asks for the columns and rows; the first row holds the headings. Tab moves to the next cell and adds a row after the last one, and Table in the bar under the caret adds and deletes rows and columns.
Text colours. Select words and press Text colour (the A) for one of the two colours set in Theme › Colours — Text colour 1 or Text colour 2 — or No colour. With only the caret in coloured words, their colour changes; elsewhere the colour goes to the whole line. Clear formatting takes colours off too. Only the theme's two colours exist, so coloured words always match the site — change a colour in the theme and every coloured word follows.
Pasting. Copy text from another website, Word or Google Docs and paste it: headings, bold, lists, links and tables come along, while colours, fonts and other formatting stay behind, so the text takes your site's look. The pictures in what you paste — and a screenshot or a picture file pasted or dropped into the box — become the site's own files, made web-sized like any upload. A picture another site does not let us copy is still shown from that site, and a message says so. A web address pasted on its own becomes a link; select words first and it links them. An address of your own site (from Copy the page's address) is kept as the page's path, such as /products/mug, and named after the page or product — the link keeps working when the domain changes.
Markdown. The text is stored as Markdown, a way of writing formatting in plain text. Text written by an AI often is Markdown already: paste it as it is and it turns into headings, lists and bold. Markdown (<>, beside Write with AI) shows the text itself, for typing the syntax by hand: two stars around a word for bold, a dash at the start of a line for a list, [words]{.color1} for a text colour, \* for a star that is just a star. The same button goes back. Write with AI on the same toolbar asks the AI for a first draft or a rewrite — see AI.
YouTube videos
To show a YouTube video, copy its address — from the browser's address bar or from Share on YouTube — and paste it on a line of its own in any text box, or use Insert › YouTube video. The text box shows the video's picture; the site shows the player, as wide as the text. Shorts, live streams and a start time (&t=90s) work too, and YouTube's Embed code can be pasted as it is. The player loads from youtube-nocookie.com, which sets no cookies until the visitor presses play. To remove a video, click the line below it and press Backspace.
Theme and look
Theme settings
The Theme panel sets the whole site's look in six groups:
- Colours — background, text, primary, accent, surface and border. The theme works out readable text colours on top of each. Text colour 1 and Text colour 2 are the colours for words in texts (the text box's Text colour); empty, they are the accent and the button colour, and a note says when one is hard to read on the background.
- Typography — the heading font, the body font, the base size, and the headings' weight and case.
- Shape and layout — the corner radius, the page's maximum width, the space between sections and the button style.
- Badges — the corner of the pictures of cards where the badges of products and posts sit, and their shape: see Badges.
- Social media — links to your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X pages, shown as icons wherever a section asks for them.
- Brand — the favicon, the small picture in the browser tab.
Changes appear in the preview at once and reach visitors when you publish.
Change theme
The owner and admins can change the site's theme. Theme › Change theme… lists the themes with a picture of each:
- Starter: light and calm, white pages, rounded cards, one accent colour. Suits most small businesses.
- Kauppa: bold and product-first, a dark footer and a news bar on top. Made for shops.
- Studio: a dark gallery with pictures first, quiet capitals and square corners. For photographers and visual artists.
- Journal: made for reading, with warm paper, a classic serif and a calm column. For writers and blogs.
- Bistro: cream and terracotta, a friendly serif, round buttons and a dark footer. For restaurants and cafés.
- Pop: rounded letters, pill buttons, pink and violet. For social media creators.
Every theme has the same sections, so your pages keep their content when you switch.
- Try shows your own pages with that theme in the preview. Nothing is saved: Stop trying, another panel or any edit brings your site back.
- Use the theme's own colours and fonts shows the theme's own look instead of the colours and fonts you chose. Your social media links and the browser tab icon stay.
- Use this theme changes the theme. Pages, sections with their texts and pictures, menus, products, blog posts and your own sections carry over. A section the new theme has no place for is hidden, and it comes back when you switch back. The change is in your draft: visitors see it when you publish. Undo brings the old theme back.
Editors see which theme is in use but cannot change it.
Custom CSS
Under Custom CSS you can add your own stylesheet. It is added after the theme's own styles, so it wins. The theme's colours and sizes are available as variables named --lp-…, so a rule like .lp-hero-heading { letter-spacing: -0.02em } keeps following the theme when you change a colour. Custom CSS is checked on every save: it may not load outside resources or hide the whole page.
Change the look with AI
Change the look with AI in the Theme panel asks for a change in words — rounder buttons, more air between sections, a warmer palette — and shows the result in the preview behind the dialog before anything is saved. Keep this look saves it as custom CSS; Discard throws it away. See AI.
Apps
The Apps panel (the owner and admins) adds services from other companies to your site. You paste an ID from the service into a form: no code is pasted anywhere, and only the services listed can be added. Missing one? Write to hello@limo.tools.
| App | What it does | Asks the visitor first |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | visitor statistics | Statistics |
| Plausible Analytics | visitor statistics without cookies | Statistics |
| Matomo | statistics on your own Matomo | Statistics |
| Meta Pixel | measures Facebook and Instagram ads | Marketing |
| Crisp chat | a chat bubble on every page | Functional |
| Google Maps | a map section on a page | its own button |
| Calendly booking | a booking calendar section on a page | its own button |
| Google Search Console | proves to Google that the site is yours | no |
Add an app
- Add puts the app under On this site with its form. A wrong ID gets a note saying what it should look like; Ready means it is on your site once you publish.
- The switch turns an app off without losing its details. Remove takes it and its sections away. Undo brings them back.
- Google Maps and Calendly are sections: Add to this page puts one on the page on screen, or use Sections › Add section.
The cookie banner
An app that stores cookies or follows visitors waits for your visitors' consent. The Cookie banner comes with the first such app and stays while one is on. Visitors choose Only necessary, Choose (by kind: functional, statistics, marketing) or Accept all; nothing of those apps loads before that. The choice is kept in the visitor's browser, and your site still sets no cookies of its own. Add a Cookie settings link to the footer menu gives visitors a way to change their mind. Name the services in your privacy policy and link it from the banner with Privacy policy page. Maps and booking calendars load when the visitor presses their button, or at once when the visitor has accepted functional cookies. No app runs on a buyer's order page: its address carries the order's key and the buyer's details.
Webhooks
Apps › Webhooks sends what happens on the site to an address of your choice as JSON, at once and without publishing: Zapier (Webhooks by Zapier › Catch Hook), Make (Custom webhook), an accounting or delivery service, or your own server. You choose what is sent:
| Event | When |
|---|---|
New order (order.placed) | a bank transfer or invoice order is placed; an online payment once it is paid |
Order paid (order.paid) | an order is paid online, or you mark a transfer paid |
Order status changed (order.status) | you change an order's status |
Message from a form (form.submitted) | a visitor sends a form |
Newsletter subscriber confirmed (newsletter.subscribed) | a visitor confirms a newsletter sign-up |
Products changed (catalogue.changed) | the products are saved |
Site published (site.published) | you publish |
Each event is a POST with a JSON body { id, type, created, site, data }; prices are in cents. Send a test sends a ping and tells what the receiver answered. A delivery that fails is tried again after 1, 5, 30, 120 and 720 minutes. The same event can arrive twice (a retry after a slow answer); it then has the same id, so a receiver can skip one it has handled. An order's events are first sent in order: order.placed before order.paid. A webhook whose receiver keeps failing switches itself off and says so. Latest deliveries lists the last tries. Only the owner and admins see webhooks.
The signing secret is shown once: with the first webhook, and when you press New secret. A receiver of your own checks the X-LP-Signature header, t=<seconds>,v1=<HMAC-SHA256 of "t.body" with the secret>:
import { createHmac, timingSafeEqual } from 'node:crypto';
const [t, v1] = header.split(',').map((part) => part.split('=')[1]);
const expected = createHmac('sha256', secret).update(`${t}.${rawBody}`).digest('hex');
const valid = v1.length === expected.length && timingSafeEqual(Buffer.from(v1), Buffer.from(expected)) && Date.now() / 1000 - Number(t) < 300;
API keys
Apps › API keys lets another service — an accounting program, Zapier, your own script — read or change this site's orders, products, form messages or blog posts, only what you tick. A key never reaches people, payments, domains or settings, and works for this site only. It is shown once, when made; Revoke stops it at once. The panel shows the address of the API (https://limopages.app/api/sites/<site id>/).
| Address | Method | The key needs |
|---|---|---|
shop/orders, shop/orders/<id> | GET | Read orders |
shop/orders/<id>/status with { "to": "fulfilled" } (or paid, cancelled, refunded) | POST | Change the status of orders |
shop/catalogue | GET | Read products |
shop/catalogue with { rev, products, collections } | PUT | Change products |
forms | GET | Read messages from forms |
blog | GET | Read blog posts |
blog with { rev, posts } | PUT | Write blog posts |
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer lp_…" https://limopages.app/api/sites/s_…/shop/orders
A key may make 600 requests a minute.
Navigation
The Navigation panel edits the site's menus: the Main menu, the Footer menu and any menu you add with Menu. Each link has a Text, a Link — a page from the list, a product, a collection, a web address or an email address — and an Open in a new tab switch. A link can hold one level of sub-items, shown as a drop-down on a computer and an indented list on a phone.
Make one link stand out. A link's Highlight makes it stand out in the menu — your Offers, say: Coloured text in the theme's text colour 1 or 2, or a Button in the button colour or the accent colour (shaped like the site's buttons, Theme › Shape and layout › Buttons). Badge adds a short word in a small tag, such as New or -20 %: on a computer it sits on the link's top right corner, like the number on the cart, and in the phone menu beside the text. Neither makes the menu wider, so a full menu stays on one line. Highlight one or two links at most — when many stand out, none does.
Under the Link field a line says where the link goes (Page: About us, Product: Mug, No page at this address on this site). The buttons beside it choose a page, product, collection or post, or a file, and Open the link shows that page in the preview (another site opens in a new tab). Right click a link for Cut, Copy and Paste — into another menu too — Open the link, the moves and Delete.
To make a link a sub-item, drag it by its dots under another link and move the mouse a little to the right while you drag: the line shows, indented, where it will land. Drag a sub-item a little to the left to make it a top-level link again. A link that has sub-items of its own cannot become a sub-item. The right-click menu does the same with Make a sub-item of “…” and Move to the top level, and so do ⌥→ and ⌥← on a chosen link.
Sections choose which menu they show: the header shows the main menu, a footer block can show any menu. A menu holds up to 120 links in all.
Files
The Files panel is the site's library: pictures, PDFs and short videos. Drop files on the panel or press Upload. Pictures, PDF files and MP4 or WebM videos are accepted, 10 MB per file; the line under the dropzone shows how much of the site's space is in use. While files upload the dropzone shows which one of how many and a bar; then they come first in the list, marked New. A file that is already in the library is not stored twice — a message gives its name there, and it is shown first too. The panel and the picture picker open at once with the files this browser saw last time and update them when the newest list arrives (Updating… meanwhile).
Shrink pictures to web size is on by default: a big photo is scaled to at most 2000 pixels on its long side and saved as WebP before it is uploaded, so a phone photo of several megabytes becomes a few hundred kilobytes and the page loads fast. Turn it off to upload an original on purpose. GIF animations and SVG drawings are never changed.
Finding files. The search box finds a file by its name, tag, type or where it is used: searching for a product's name finds the product's pictures too, even when a picture is called kuva.png. The type buttons (Pictures, Videos, PDFs) narrow by kind and say how many there are of each. The menus show one tag's files or the files Without tags, narrow to files In use or Not in use, and order them newest, oldest, by name or by size. A card says where the file is used (Product: …, Page: …), or Not in use. The library shows 60 files at a time; Show more brings the next ones.
A file's details. A card's picture opens the file: a big preview, its Name (for the library only — the file's address does not change; clear the field to give it back the name it was uploaded with), its Tags, type, size, the picture's or video's dimensions, when it was uploaded, its address and the places that use it. Save keeps the name and tags. Copy address copies the file's web address — to link a PDF from a text, for example. Delete asks first and says when the file is in use; the places that use it then show an empty picture.
Tags are words to find files by, such as a product group or a campaign; up to 20 a file. While a tag is chosen in the menu, new files get it when they are uploaded, as if they were uploaded into a folder.
Many at once. Select puts check boxes on the cards: choose files, or Select all shown, then Add tag, Remove tag or Delete. With Not in use chosen, Delete them deletes the unused files shown in one go; the server checks each one again and keeps any file that came into use meanwhile.
When you choose a picture for a section or a product, the picker has the same search, the tag and order menus, and the Description for screen readers and search engines.
Shop
Turn the shop on
A site gets its shop when you tick This site sells things at creation, or later with The shop is open in Shop › Settings. The shop adds the /shop page, the product and collection pages, the cart and checkout, and a cart button to the header. Opening the shop adds a Shop link to the main menu; closing it asks whether to remove that link too. Shop settings take effect when you publish the site; products and collections are live the moment they are saved.
Closing the cart (holiday)
When you go on holiday or cannot send orders for a while, switch off The cart is open in Shop › Settings (right under The shop is open). The shop and its products stay on the site with their prices, but:
- the cart's address (/cart) shows the Cart closed page: a heading, a text, a button to the products and a contact form for questions — the messages come to your email and to Settings › Messages from forms;
- product pages show a short notice and a Read more link instead of the Add to cart button;
- no orders can be placed. Payments and order pages already under way keep working.
It takes effect within a minute and needs no publishing — your unfinished changes stay a draft. The top bar says Cart closed as a reminder. If you like, choose Opens again by itself on: the cart opens at 00:00 Finnish time that day, and the date shows on the closed page and in the product pages' notice (Orders open again on 3 November 2026). Without a date the cart stays closed until you switch it on again.
Its texts are edited like any page: Edit the cart-closed page (or Pages › Page templates › Cart closed). There you also find Notice on product pages and Show the reopening date. You can prepare the page before closing the cart. Remove the form or add sections after Open the layout.
Products
Shop › Products lists the products. Click one: its page opens in the preview and follows what you type, and clicking its name, price, pictures or text — on its page, or on its card anywhere on the site — takes you to the field. Product adds one; Add images makes one draft product from each picture. New products go to the top of the list, or right before the product that is open, so you can place one anywhere and move it from there. In Newest order a new product is the newest. Each product has:
- Name, and Visible in the shop — Yes, for sale or No, a draft.
- Price, including VAT when the shop's prices do. Leave the price empty for a product sold on request: the shop shows your Label (for example Ask for a quote) in place of the price and an Ask for a quote button that opens the contact form, instead of Add to cart.
- Price before discount, shown struck through next to the price.
- VAT — one of the rates in use.
- Freight per item — added to the delivery price at checkout for every unit, except when the buyer collects. Shown on the product page and on the product's card in lists (“+ freight … per item”).
- Pictures — up to 12; the first is the product's main picture.
- Description — formatted text, pasted pictures and videos included: see Text and formatting.
- Extra info — a short formatted text under the price and the buy button, and on the product's card in collections and featured products: a delivery time, a store price, an offer. A card shows up to four lines of it, its links as plain text (the whole card is a link).
- In stock — the number you have; leave it empty if you do not track stock. A product at zero shows Sold out. SKU, your own product code. Barcode (EAN / GTIN) is the number under the barcode on the package and Brand (maker) who made it; with them Google can show the product among the same product's other sellers. A wrong check digit is shown under the field, and such a code is never told to search engines. In a product with choices each combination has its own barcode.
- Address — the product page is /products/<address>. If you change it, the old address keeps leading to the product, so links and search results still work.
- Tags — words that group the product. Type a tag and press Enter; the shop's other tags are suggested, and a tag it already has keeps the shop's spelling. Write Group: value (for example Brand: Sunwind) for tags that belong together: the groups become the filters of collection pages (see Filters). Tags put the product into automatic collections and help search: the shop's search finds a product by its tags too. A tag can also give the product a badge such as New: see Badges. Up to 50.
- Collections — tick the collections the product belongs to. Ticking an automatic collection gives the product that collection's tag (and unticking takes its tags away), so it joins and leaves like the others.
- Options — tick This product has options (size, colour …), name the choice (Size) and write its values (S, M, L — Enter after each). Add a second choice (e.g. colour) adds another (Colour: Red, Blue). Every combination becomes an option of its own — M / Red — with its own price (empty: the product's price), stock and product code; delete a combination you do not make. A combination that existed keeps its price and stock when you add values; when you add a second choice, the new combinations take the first choice's price, and their stock starts at 0 if you count stock, so enter it. Up to 100 combinations. On the product page the buyer picks each choice from its own list; the price follows, and what is sold out or not made says so.
Products are saved as you edit them and are live in the shop at once; the status line says Saved — live on the site. The list opens at once with the products the editor already has and takes in any change made elsewhere (another window, another person) by itself. A long list shows the first 80 and the next ones as you scroll (or Show more); the search looks through all of them.
The search above the list finds products by name, code or tag. Tick several products to change them at once: Set a field (visible in the shop, VAT), Add tag or Remove tag, or delete them. Duplicate on a row asks for the copy's name; the copy gets its own address. The copy of a product for sale is in the shop at once — untick Visible in the shop at once to finish it as a draft first; a draft's copy is a draft. Collections are duplicated the same way. A draft has a Draft tag on its row: it is not on the site at all, and Publish does not change that — set Visible in the shop to Yes, for sale. View site on a draft says so instead of opening an empty page. Move to the top on a row puts the product first in the list — and in the shop's own order; collection rows have the same button. A right click on a product offers Copy and Paste after too: pasted products are drafts with addresses of their own, and Cut and Paste move products within the list. An address another product or collection already has is refused at the field.
Collections
Shop › Collections groups products: New, Mugs, Gifts. A new collection goes to the top of the list, or right before the open one. Click one and the preview shows its page; clicking its name or description there, or its tile in a list of all collections, opens it. A collection has a Name, a Description, a Picture, the list of its products and its page's filters (see Filters); its page is /collections/<address>, and a changed address keeps leading to it. All products at /shop lists everything for sale.
A collection is Hand-picked or Automatic, by tags; choose under Products in this collection.
- Hand-picked — tick its products. The search box finds them by name, code, tag or description, and Only chosen lists the ticked ones. A product can also join from its own form, under Collections.
- Automatic — give one or more tags and whether a product needs any or all of them. Every product with them is in the collection, new and changed ones too; the list below shows which match (drafts are listed but not shown on the site).
Order on the page works the same for both kinds:
- Your order — you arrange the products: drag one, use its arrows, or Move to the top (in a hand-picked collection, do it under Only chosen). In an automatic collection, a product that gets the tags later comes at the end, where you can move it.
- Newest first, Oldest first, Name A–Z, Price — the shop orders them. Shown first lets a few products lead anyway: press a product's pin in the list, and the pinned ones come first, in the order you set under Shown first (drag or arrows); the rest follow the chosen order. For example: three campaign products first, then everything else cheapest first.
Changing the order keeps both: back to Your order, your arrangement is still there, and the pins come back with the other orders.
Making a hand-picked collection automatic keeps its order: the products keep their places while they have the collection's tags (the editor asks first). Making an automatic collection hand-picked keeps the products that matched, in the order they were shown.
On the site, the Product list template draws a collection's page: columns, products per page, a search box, a sort menu (featured, newest, price, name), Tag buttons and the description. Tag buttons let visitors narrow the list to one tag of its products; a tag every product has is left out. Featured is the collection's own order. Put products on other pages with the Featured products section (one collection, a chosen number of products) and the Collection tiles section. Up to 200 collections.
Links to a narrowed list. The address /collections/all?q=word shows the products with the word in their name, description or tags, and /collections/all?tag=halkokatos (or /collections/all/halkokatos) the products tagged halkokatos — inside a collection too, for example /collections/puulammitys?tag=halkokatos. Several tags with a comma or a plus, for example ?tag=sunwind, aurinkopaneeli or /collections/all/sunwind+aurinkopaneeli, show the products that have all of them. A narrowed list's heading is the tag or the search, and the collection's name above it leads back to the whole list. Share such links, or use them in menus and texts. The filter area's choices are in the address the same way (?f.tyyppi=ilmalampopumppu): see Filters.
Filters
Shop › Filters adds a filter area to collection pages so visitors can narrow the list — for example by type and brand on a heat pump page. Filters come from the products' tags written as Group: value: the tags Tyyppi: Ilmalämpöpumppu and Merkki: Sunwind make the groups Tyyppi and Merkki, and their values are tick boxes in the area. So subcategories need no collections or menus of their own: give products the tags and they are in the filters. Many products at once: tick them in the product list and use Add tag.
- Where it shows — Not shown, On the left or On the right of the product list. On a phone the area is above the list, behind a Filter button. A collection page whose products have nothing to narrow by shows no area at all. Show how many products each value has tells how many products a tick gives. Order of the values in the groups: Alphabetical (the default) or Most products first, by the numbers on each collection page (equal numbers alphabetically). The group a visitor ticks in keeps its order; the others follow their new numbers.
- Groups — every group found in the products, in the order the site shows them: the tag groups, then the products' choices (e.g. Size, Colour), Price and Availability. A row tells how many values and products the group has. Tag groups show at once; choices, price and availability are off until you open them and switch Shown on the site on. Drag groups or use the arrows and Move to the top. A new group that turns up later comes at the end.
- Opening a group — Title (empty: the group's word as the tags write it, e.g. Tyyppi), Short description under the title, Shown on the site (a hidden group neither shows nor narrows) and Order of the values: Default (the order chosen above for every group), Alphabetical, Your order, where you drag the values into order (a value that turns up in the tags later comes at the end), or Most products first. In the editor the counts are the whole shop's; a collection page counts its own products, so there the order can differ. A greyed value is on no product any more, and the site does not show it.
- Choices, price and availability — a choice (Shop › Products › Options) shows the products sold in a ticked one (Size: M). Price is two fields, From and Up to, in whole euros, with the list's lowest and highest price as hints; a field shows the list as soon as you leave it. A product shows when one of its prices is in the range; a price on request never does. Availability is one tick box, In stock only; a product whose stock is not tracked counts as in stock. The price does not show when every listed product has the same price, nor availability when everything is in stock.
A collection's own filters. In a collection's form, Filters › Filters on this page is As in Shop › Filters (the default) or Chosen here. Chosen here, you tick the groups this page shows and put them in order under Only chosen by dragging — for example only Tyyppi on subcategory pages, or the price only on a gifts page. A ticked group shows on this page even when Shop › Filters hides it; titles and the order of values come from there. The choice goes live as soon as it is saved, like the products' order.
On the site, ticks in one group show the products with any of them (Ilmalämpöpumppu or Maalämpöpumppu), and ticks in several groups only the products with all of them (Ilmalämpöpumppu and Sunwind). A tick shows the list at once; the chosen values show above the list, and ✕ or Clear filters takes them away. With one value ticked, it is the page's heading — Ilmalämpöpumppu under the collection Lämpöpumput — like a subcategory page (a price or availability is not in the heading). A value every listed product has is left out, as is a value that would give no products. The choices are in the address (/collections/lampopumput?f.tyyppi=ilmalampopumppu; a choice ?o.size=m, the price ?min_price=50&max_price=200, availability ?instock=1), so a narrowed list can be shared as a link or put in a menu. The search page and All products filter the same way.
The filters' settings go live when you publish the site; tags need no publish, so a new value shows at once. While the area is on, Group: value tags are left out of the Product list's tag buttons (they are in the filters). The filters show for the owner and admins, not editors.
Badges
Shop › Badges makes small labels such as New, Sale or Plus style on the pictures of products in lists and under the name on a product's page — as the big web shops do. Each badge has:
- Text — up to 24 characters.
- Who gets it — Products and posts with a tag (type the Tag; the shop's tags are suggested) or Products on sale: every product whose Price before sale is above its price.
- Colour — from the theme's colours: the accent colour, the button colour, text colour 1 or 2, or grey, so the badge goes with the site (the text on it is black or white, whichever reads better), and Look: filled or outline.
- Where it shows — on products, on blog posts (when the blog is on; the same word in their topics), on cards in lists on the picture, and on the item's own page under its name.
- Link on the item's own page — a click on the badge on a product page opens every product with the same tag (/collections/all?tag=…; for a post /blog?tag=…), or an address you give. On cards a badge is never a link, because the whole card opens the product.
A product shows at most four badges, in the list's order — drag to arrange them. The list of badges goes live when you publish the site; tags need no publish, so a product that gets the tag New gets the New badge at once. Where the badges sit on the pictures of cards (the corner) and their shape (a pill or the theme's corners) are under Theme › Badges. On a site with a blog but no shop the badges are under Blog › Badges. Owners and admins see the badges, editors do not.
Discount codes
Shop › Discounts (owners and admins) makes the codes buyers type in the cart. Each code is percent off, an amount off (never more than the goods it is for) or free delivery, and it can be for every product or one collection. You can set a minimum order (the products in the cart, VAT included), the days it is valid from and until (both count, Finnish time), how many orders at most may use it, once per customer (by email address), and switch it on or off. Your note is for you only. Codes work as soon as they are saved, without publishing; the row says how many orders have used each one.
The cart shows a Discount code field while at least one code is on. The discount is listed on its own line, and the VAT is worked out on what the buyer pays: a discount over products with different VAT rates takes its share of each. Copy a link with the code in a code's menu gives an address like yoursite.fi/cart?code=AUTUMN10 — the cart opens with the code in use, handy in a newsletter or a post. The order page, the confirmation mail and Shop › Orders show the code and what it took off. Every order with the code counts as a use, paid or not yet.
Search
A shop's header has a search icon and the word Search (Header › Show product search, on by default). It opens a search box that answers while you type: the best products with their pictures and prices, the collections and pages whose names match, and Show all results. Enter opens the search page /search with every result, the best first, in pages. The arrow keys move through the answers, Esc closes, and / opens it too.
The search reads a product's name, code, tags and the start of its description. Every word must be found, and a word may be the start or a part of a longer one (lämpö finds Ilmalämpöpumppu). Ä, ö and å can be typed without the dots: lampopumppu finds Lämpöpumppu. Products with the words in their name come first, then the code, the tags and the description. When nothing matches but the shop's own words have one that is almost the same (one or two letters off), the search box shows its results and the search page asks Did you mean …? Put a link to /search in a menu for a Search page like the old shops had.
Before anything is typed, the panel can show quick links and products: in the header's settings choose Quick links (a menu) — for example a menu of your main collections (make it under Menus) — and its Heading (Popular by default), and Products before typing, a collection, and how many of its products to show.
Prices and VAT
In Shop › Settings › Prices and VAT: Prices I enter include VAT is on by default, so the price on a product is what the buyer pays. VAT rates in use lists the rates products can choose from — in Finland in 2026, 25.5 (general), 13.5 (food, books, culture), 10 (newspapers) and 0. Default VAT for new products is what a new product starts with. The shop works out VAT in whole cents, line by line, so the order, the confirmation email and the online payment always agree.
Delivery
Delivery lists the ways you deliver: each has a Name, a Price, a VAT rate and a The buyer collects (no freight) switch. The buyer picks one at checkout. Products' freight is added on top of the chosen delivery's price, except for a collection method. In the cart every delivery method shows its price with the freight for that cart (a free one shows no price), and a product with freight says “+ freight … per item” on its line. A shop with no delivery methods and no freight simply has no delivery line.
A method can also be:
- free when the order is at least an amount — Free delivery over 80 €: the products, VAT included, before a discount code; the cart says free over 80,00 € until the order reaches it. Products' own freight still applies.
- priced by weight — a step a line, 2 kg 6,90 · 5 kg 9,90 · 30 kg 19,90: up to that weight, that price. A cart heavier than the last step is not offered this method. Give products their Weight (kg) in their own form; products without one weigh nothing.
- only to postal codes — 15100–15999, 16300: home delivery in your town, say. The cart offers it once the buyer's postal code is in the area, and says so otherwise.
Delivery is within Finland.
Payment
Payment lists the ways buyers may pay. Switch on the ones you offer:
- Paytrail — online banks, MobilePay and cards. The buyer pays on Paytrail's page and comes back to your site. Enter your Merchant ID and Secret key from the Paytrail merchant panel and press Save keys; the secret is stored encrypted and never shown again. Switched on, but buyers will not see it until the keys are saved means exactly that. No Paytrail account yet? Open one links to Paytrail; the contract is between you and Paytrail.
- Bank transfer with a reference number. The order gets a Finnish reference number; the buyer sees your Account (IBAN), the amount, the reference and a due date (Days to pay) on the order page and in the confirmation email. Extra instructions to the buyer are shown with them.
- Order request — invoice or payment as agreed. The order comes to you by email and the buyer pays as you agree: an invoice, on collection, after the work is done. What happens next is shown to the buyer. Such an order can be marked sent before it is paid.
The Name at checkout of each method (Paytrail too) is what the buyer sees; left empty, the name shown in grey is used.
Unfinished orders
When a buyer goes to pay online (Paytrail) but closes the payment page or cancels the payment, the order stays Waiting for payment or Payment failed. With Remind the buyer when an online payment is not finished on, the buyer gets one mail after the time you choose (1 h later, 4 h later or The next day): what they were ordering, Your own words in the mail if you wrote any, and a Continue your order link. The link puts the products, the delivery, the payment method, the discount code and the buyer's details back in the cart; when they send the order, the old one is cancelled (Sent again in Orders) and its discount code is free again.
The reminder goes out only once, and only while the order is still unfinished, Paytrail confirms no payment came, the same buyer has not ordered since and the cart is not closed. Bank transfers and invoice orders are never reminded. A cart before the order is sent lives only in the visitor's browser, so it cannot be reminded. The setting is off by default and, like the shop's other settings, needs a publish.
Your business
Your business holds the Business name, the Business ID (Y-tunnus), the Address, the Phone, the Email for orders and, for search engines, What kind of place (see Site settings): new orders are sent there, and buyers' replies to confirmation emails arrive there. The name, business ID, address, phone and email are printed as the seller on the order's PDF (see Orders); like the shop's other settings, they need a publish.
Search engines and Google
Product pages tell Google the product's name, pictures, price (what the buyer pays, VAT included), whether it is in stock, the price before a sale, the price of the cheapest delivery that reaches all of Finland and the return window. They come from the products and the shop's settings as they are. Search engines makes them more exact:
- Default brand — whose products these are, for products without a Brand of their own: your own name if you make them. Leave it empty if you sell many makers' goods and give each product its brand.
- The products are new, used or refurbished.
- Returns — 14 days by default, the online buyer's statutory right of withdrawal; or 30 or 60 days, No returns or Do not tell search engines.
- Return postage — The buyer pays or Free returns; by default it is not said.
Like the shop's other settings, these need a publish. A product's brand and barcode go on its own form (see Products).
Google Merchant Center shows the address of the shop's product feed (/feeds/google.xml) and a Copy button. For free listings in Google Shopping (and Shopping ads), paste the address into Merchant Center: Products › Feeds › Add a feed › Scheduled fetch. Google reads the products from it every day: each choice as a row of its own, the price and the sale price, stock, the brand, the barcode, colour and size from the choices' names (Colour, Size), the weight and the delivery price. Products without a picture or a price are left out.
How a buyer orders
The cart lives in the visitor's browser; your site sets no cookies. At checkout the buyer gives a name, an email, a phone, a street address, a postal code and a city, an optional message, picks delivery and payment, accepts your terms of sale (the Cart and checkout template has a Terms link setting) and presses Place order. The same template's Text under the heading shows across the page under the cart's heading once it has words — delivery times, how orders are handled, how to reach you. Every price is worked out on the server from your catalogue: nothing the browser says about prices is trusted. A product that is sold out, hidden or sold on request cannot be ordered.
The buyer then pays on Paytrail's page, or sees the transfer details or your what happens next text. An order confirmation goes to the buyer and the new order to your Email for orders. The buyer's order page link works for 120 days. The order page and the confirmation email also have the order as a PDF: a Receipt once it is paid, an Invoice when the buyer pays by bank transfer (the account, the reference, the due date and the banks' virtual barcode), otherwise an Order confirmation. A cart holds up to 50 lines of 99 items each.
Orders
Shop › Orders lists every order, newest first, with its number, the customer, the total, the payment method and its status. Open an order to see the lines, delivery, VAT, the customer's details and message, and to change its status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Waiting for payment | A Paytrail payment was started but not finished. |
| Awaiting bank transfer / Waiting for your invoice | The buyer owes the amount. |
| Paid | The money is in: Paytrail confirmed it, or you pressed Mark paid. |
| Sent | Mark sent when the goods have left. |
| Cancelled | Cancel order — stock is returned. |
| Refunded | Refund an online payment in Paytrail's merchant panel, then Mark refunded here. |
| Payment failed | Paytrail reported a failed payment. |
Stock is reduced when an order is placed and returned when the order is cancelled or refunded.
An unfinished online order shows Reminder with the time it went out once the reminder is sent, and Sent again when the buyer came back from the reminder's link and sent the order again (see Unfinished orders).
PDF (receipt / invoice) opens the order as a PDF: the seller and the buyer, the lines, delivery, discounts, the total and the VAT per rate, and the payment details. It is the same file the buyer gets from the order page, and it follows the status: when you mark a bank transfer paid, the invoice becomes a receipt. The seller's details come from Your business.
Blog
Turn the blog on
Blog › Settings: The blog is on adds the /blog page and a page for every post. Switching it on adds a link to the main menu; switching it off asks whether to remove that link too. The Blog name is the page's title and Introduction a few words under it, also used as the page's description for search engines. These settings take effect when you publish the site; posts themselves are live when saved.
Posts
Blog › Posts lists posts, newest first. Post starts a new one with today's date. A post has a Title, Visible on the site (Yes, published or No, a draft), a Date, an Author, a Picture, the Text with the formatting toolbar, an Excerpt shown in lists (empty = the start of the text), Topics separated by commas (up to 12), search settings and an Address: the post is at /blog/<address>.
A post saved as published is on the site within a minute, without publishing the site, and is listed in the sitemap. Click a post in the list and the preview shows it; clicking its title, picture or text on the page, or its card in a list of posts, takes you to the field. A site can hold 2,000 posts of up to 60,000 characters each.
Scheduling: a published post whose Date is still to come is Scheduled: it comes on the site — the blog, the sitemap and the feed — on that day (Finnish time), and the preview shows it already. RSS: the blog's posts are a feed at /blog/rss.xml (the newest 30, the whole text with its pictures), for feed readers and mail tools; every page tells browsers the address itself.
The blog on the site
The blog page lists published posts newest first, pages them and filters by topic; undated posts come after the dated ones. The Blog posts template sets the columns, posts per page and what each card shows; the Blog post template whether a post shows its picture, date, author, topics and links to the newer and older post. The Latest blog posts section puts the newest posts on any page, the home page for example. A post can get a badge such as New on its card's picture and under its title by its topics: see Badges.
AI
What it can do
The AI helps in five places, always in the language of your site:
- Write the starting texts with AI — a new site's sample headings and introductions rewritten for your business from a sentence or two (the New site form's Tell about the site, or With AI on the Write your own texts step of Next steps). Prices, menus, opening hours, events, questions and answers, addresses, customer quotes and button labels stay yours to write, and so does every text you have written already. All the new texts are one step in Undo.
- Create with AI in the section picker — describe a section that does not exist in the theme (a price list with three packages side by side, our team: a photo, a name and a role each, opening hours and a map link) and press Create. You see it rendered and its settings listed; Add to page puts it in, and from then on it is a section like any other, with its own settings, saved with the site and listed under Your sections. Show code shows what it is made of.
- Change with AI… on a section — say what should change (two columns, a quote under every item, the picture on the right). A theme section stays as it is and the page gets its own changed copy; Use the new version applies it, Undo brings the old one back. The dialog says which settings were added or removed.
- Change the look with AI in the Theme panel — see Theme and look.
- Write with AI (the sparkle) on the text boxes of sections, products, collections, blog posts and payment instructions — a first draft from a few words, or one click on Fix spelling and grammar, Shorter, Friendlier, Say it another way, Translate to Finnish or Translate to English. Use this puts the text in the box. Select a part of a text first and only that part changes — a paragraph to translate, a sentence to fix. A text longer than 8,000 characters is changed a part at a time this way, so nothing gets cut.
Credits and estimates
AI calls are billed to the Limo Tools credits of your account — the same credits as in LimoNote and LimoStudio. Every dialog shows an estimate before you press the button: a section or a change to one costs about 20–60 credits, a look about 5–15, the starting texts about 5–20, a text about 1–5. The real usage is charged. Sign in with LimoNote appears when LimoPages needs a fresh sign-in for the AI, and Get more credits leads to the account's plans and credit packs on LimoNote.
What is checked
Nothing the AI writes reaches the site unchecked. A section must follow the section rules, use only settings it declares, render without errors and contain no scripts or outside resources; a look may not load outside files or hide the page; a text is trimmed to the field's length, and the AI is told to keep pictures, links and video lines as they are. You always see the result first, and every AI change is one step in Undo.
Publish and versions
Publish
Publish in the top bar, or in the Publish panel, makes the draft the live site. The panel shows the site's Web address; without one, publishing works but the site is not reachable until the owner or an admin chooses an address in Site settings. Products, collections, posts and orders do not need a publish: they are live when saved. Shop settings, blog settings, pages, sections, the theme and the menus do. Discard changes beside Private preview throws away everything changed since the last publish (the same as the round arrow in the top bar); Undo brings it back.
Private preview
Private preview opens the draft on the site's address through a link that works for 30 minutes without signing in — to show someone the page before it is published. Its links lead on through the draft: pages, products, collections and posts. Forms and the cart work on the published site only. For a link that lasts a week, use Copy a private link for a week under Under construction.
Under construction
Site settings › Under construction hides the published site while you work on it. Within a minute visitors see only the construction page, in your site's colours and fonts; search engines are told to come back later and keep the site's place. You can keep publishing meanwhile, and payments and order pages already under way keep working. Edit the construction page opens it in the page menu (Under construction) like any page: change the heading and the text, add an email for questions, show the social media icons. Copy a private link for a week copies a link that shows your latest saved changes, unpublished ones too, to anyone you send it to — a client checking the site before it opens. Switch it off and the site is open again within a minute. While it is on, the top bar and the site's card on the dashboard say Under construction.
History and restore
Every publish is kept as a numbered version under History, with the newest marked live. Restore on an older version puts it back online, as a new version, so the history stays complete; your draft is not changed. Restoring the site does not restore products or posts, which live outside the versions, and pictures deleted from Files stay deleted. To bring the live version back into the editor without publishing anything, use Discard changes since the last publish.
Web address and your own domain
name.limo.page
In Site settings › Web address, type a Name in the address and press Take this address when it says is free. The name is 3–32 characters: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, no hyphen at either end. Names that look like our products, banks, authorities or well-known brands are reserved. Change address moves the site to a new name; the old name is freed and stops answering, so change it before you hand the address out.
Show in search engines
A new site is hidden from search engines while you build: its pages ask not to be listed. The switch Show in search engines turns listing on; it turns on by itself when your own domain is connected. A listed site has a sitemap at /sitemap.xml with its pages, products, collections and posts, and a robots file that keeps the cart, checkout and order pages out. Single pages, posts and products can still be hidden on their own forms.
Connect your own domain
A site's domains belong to its owner, on the dashboard: Domains on the site's card opens the site's domain page. Your addresses lists the free name.limo.page address and every domain with its state; Connect a domain you own is at the bottom. A site holds up to 5 domains. Use the www address, for example www.example.fi:
- Type the address and press Connect. LimoPages shows a TXT record — a name and a value — to add at your domain registrar's DNS settings. It proves the domain is yours.
- Press Check now once the record is in place (DNS changes can take up to an hour to be visible). The status moves from Waiting for the TXT record to Waiting for the CNAME and certificate, and LimoPages shows the CNAME record to add: the www name pointing to the target shown. If your DNS is at Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (the grey cloud).
- Press Check now again. When the record is found and the certificate issued, the status is Connected and the site answers on your domain over https. The certificate renews itself.
Forward the bare domain (example.fi without www) to the www address at your registrar; most registrars have a forwarding setting for this. Make this the main address makes the domain the site's address: every other address, the limo.page one included, redirects to it. Disconnect takes a domain off the site. Needs attention with a note under it means a record was changed or removed; fix it and check again. In the editor, Site settings › Your own domain shows the same addresses and their state, with a link to the domain page.
Add it to our account, for the accounts that can buy domains, connects a domain through LimoPages' Cloudflare account instead. LimoPages adds the domain there and shows two nameservers; change the domain's nameservers to those two at its registrar. If the domain carries e-mail, ask us to copy its mail records into the account first. Once the change has gone through — minutes, sometimes a day — LimoPages sets the www record, the certificate and the redirect from the bare domain by itself, and the domain shows as Connected.
Buy a domain
On the domain page, Buy a domain searches for names: type a word or a whole name and press Search. Each name shows its price a year in US dollars — Cloudflare's own price, with nothing added — or why it cannot be bought: Taken, Premium name, not sold here or Not sold here. Names ending in .fi, .se or .eu are not sold here: buy one in the Control panel (through Openprovider, in your own name), or from a registrar that sells them, and connect it as above.
Buy checks the price once more and asks you to confirm. The purchase then appears under On its way with its steps — Bought, DNS ready at Cloudflare, Records and the redirect from the bare domain, Address and certificate — and in a minute or two the domain is Connected: www.example.com answers for the site over https, example.com without www redirects there, and the new address becomes the site's main address if the site had only its limo.page one. Keep the page open meanwhile; if you leave, the setup continues the next time you open it.
A domain bought here is registered by LimoPages for your use and renews every year. A purchase cannot be refunded, and for its first 60 days a domain cannot move to another registrar; after that we transfer it on request. Disconnect takes the domain off the site but keeps it: Connect again puts it back, Add it to our account on another of your sites moves it there, and Remove from the list hides it from this site's page. Buying is open to a few accounts while we try it out; everyone else sees the names and prices.
Redirects
Site settings › Redirects sends old addresses to new ones, for a site moving to LimoPages from somewhere else. Each redirect has an Old address and Goes to. Three forms:
/old-page— exactly that address./shop/:category/item=:id→/products/:id— a :name matches one part of the address and can be used in the target./old/*→/new/*— a star at the end matches the rest of the address.
Exact addresses win over patterns; patterns are tried in order. A page whose address you change in the editor gets its redirect automatically. Import CSV reads a file with two columns, old address and new, as exported by other shop systems, and merges it with the list; Export CSV writes the list out. Rows the import could not use are listed with the reason. Up to 2,000 redirects.
Control panel
The Control panel (the button in the top bar of your sites, or limopages.app/panel) is where your domains, mailboxes and their settings live — for all your sites at once, like a hosting company's cPanel. It has five tabs: Overview, Domains, Mail, Registrant and Getting started. From any of your sites you can also open it at www.yoursite.fi/panel, and LimoMail at www.yoursite.fi/webmail.
Opening the control panel
Overview shows your package (how many sites, domains and mailboxes), each domain with its registrar, renewal date and the sites it serves, and anything still on its way. A domain that is being bought or transferred shows its steps there and on the Domains tab; it carries on by itself even when the page is closed.
Registrant
A domain is registered to a holder: a company or association, or a private person. Fill in Registrant once before buying or transferring. A Finnish company gives its Y-tunnus, a Finnish private person the henkilötunnus (or a passport number), someone abroad a birth date; everyone gives an address with the region (maakunta in Finland), an e-mail address and a phone number. The identifier goes to the registry (for .fi names, Traficom) through Openprovider only: LimoPages does not keep it, and Edit asks for it again. A change of holder applies to new domains; the holder of an existing .fi changes through Traficom.
Buying through Openprovider
On Domains, type a word or a whole name under Buy a domain and press Search. With € Openprovider (the default) the names are registered in your name, prices are in euros a year, and .fi, .eu and .se names are included. $ Cloudflare buys as on a site's domain page. Buy asks what the name is for: one of your sites (www.name becomes its address and the bare name redirects there) or Not on a site yet. The steps — Registered in your name, DNS ready at LimoPages, Nameservers point to LimoPages, then the site's records and certificate — take a few minutes; a brand-new name waits a moment for the registry to publish it. A domain cannot be returned once registered; Renews every year can be switched off on its card.
Transferring a domain
Transfer a domain you own moves a domain from another registrar to LimoPages. Type the domain, press Check, paste its transfer key (authorization code) and press Transfer. A .fi name moves at once: get the key from Traficom's domain name service or ask your current registrar; the holder stays the same. Other names need to be unlocked at the current registrar first and take up to a week; the registry may e-mail the holder to approve the move. The domain's DNS stays where it is, so the site and the mail keep working during and after the move. Afterwards it renews here and can have mailboxes; Add it to our account on a site's domain page then also moves its DNS to LimoPages, and LimoPages changes the nameservers itself.
Mailboxes
Mailboxes are made on domains registered through LimoPages. On Mail, choose the domain and press Set up mail once: LimoPages turns on Openprovider Email for it, makes its signing key (DKIM) and adds the mail records to its DNS — or, when the DNS is somewhere else, lists them to add there, with Check now to see what the internet sees. If the domain's mail still goes to another server, the panel says so, and Move the mail switches it when the new mailboxes are ready. Make the mailbox asks for the address (info, firstname.lastname) and a name; LimoPages makes a strong password, shows it once — copy it — and puts the mailbox in your LimoMail. New password replaces it (phones using the old one need the new one; LimoMail is updated by itself), Other addresses forwards an address like sales@ into a mailbox, and the bin icon deletes the mailbox with its mail after you type its address. Mailboxes made earlier in Openprovider's own panel appear under Made elsewhere: Manage here brings them in without changing their password.
Mail on phones and computers
Most mail apps find the settings from the address alone. If one asks: the user name is the whole address, incoming mail is IMAP at mail.op-email.eu, port 993, SSL/TLS, and outgoing mail is SMTP at mail.op-email.eu, port 465 with SSL/TLS (or 587 with STARTTLS), with the same user name and password. On an iPhone choose Settings › Mail › Accounts › Add Account › Other; in Gmail on Android, Add account › Other. Webmail is at mail.op-email.eu/SOGo, and LimoMail at limopages.app/mail (install it as an app from its menu).
Getting started
Getting started is this chapter as a checklist, with your own domains, first mailbox and settings filled in: your web address, mailboxes, mail on phones and computers, DNS records, keeping passwords safe, and where to ask for help (hello@limo.tools).
Forms and messages
The Contact form section is how visitors write to you. Its Items are the fields: each has a Label, a Kind — a short text, a long text, an email address or a phone number — and a Required switch. The section also has the Button text, the Thank-you text shown after sending, and Send messages to, the email address the messages go to; empty, they go to your account's email. On a product sold on request, the Ask for a quote button opens the page chosen under Quote requests go to on the Product template (the contact page by default) with the product's name filled in.
Sent messages are kept in Site settings › Messages from forms (the latest 50) as well as mailed. The form works only on the published site; in the preview, pressing the button shows a note instead. Hidden fields filled by robots are discarded quietly.
Newsletter sign-ups
The Newsletter sign-up section collects people for your newsletter. A visitor writes their email address (and name, if you switch on Ask for the name too) and presses the button. We then mail them a link: on the page it opens they press Yes, subscribe, and only then are they on your list. This is the proof of consent marketing mail needs, and nobody can sign up somebody else. The link works for a week.
- Site settings › Newsletter subscribers lists the people who confirmed, newest first, with Export CSV for any mail tool and Remove when someone asks to be forgotten.
- With LimoMail, they also join your address book within a few minutes, in the group the section's Address book group names (empty: the site's name), with their permission marked as consent. Your mailings reach them from there, each with its unsubscribe link.
- The section's texts — heading, text, button, small print and the line after sending — are yours to change. The confirmation page and the mail use the site's language.
- A webhook can tell another service of each new subscriber:
newsletter.subscribedin Webhooks.
People
Roles
Several people can work on one site. The People panel lists them with their role:
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including the site's domains, deleting the site and handing it to someone else. One per site. |
| Admin | Everything else: Site settings, the web address, payment methods, people and the pages' layout lock. |
| Editor | Pages, sections, the look, files, products, posts and orders, and publishing. Never settings, domains, payment keys, people, a page's layout lock, the address a contact form sends to, or putting an older version back online. |
Everyone on the site sees the list; the owner and admins manage it. A site holds up to 50 people. To show someone on the site a page, send them the editor's address from your browser, or use Copy the page's address in the top bar and then Copy the editor link instead in its message: the link opens the same page and panel for them.
Invite someone
Invite a person: choose the Role (admin or editor), optionally type an Email so LimoPages sends the link, and press Create invite. With no email you get a link to send yourself. An invite is a single-use link that works for 14 days; Open invites lists the ones not yet used, and Withdraw cancels one. The person opens the link, signs in with their LimoNote or LimoStudio account (a new one is made on the way if needed) and presses Accept the invite; the site then appears under Shared with you on their dashboard.
Role on a person changes it between admin and editor; Remove from the site takes them off. The owner's role changes only by handing the site over.
Hand a site over
Building a site for a customer? Invite them first. Then Hand the site over › Make owner…: they get an offer on their dashboard, Become the owner accepts it, and you stay on the site as an admin. Cancel the offer withdraws it while it is open. The new owner can delete the site and hand it on; the site now counts towards their number of sites, not yours.
Leave a site
Leave on a shared site's card in the dashboard, or in the People panel, takes you off the site. You need a new invite to come back. An owner cannot leave: hand the site over or delete it.
Site settings
Site settings gathers the site-wide things: the Site name, the Sender name and the Language of the site, the Web address, Show in search engines, Under construction, Your own domain, Redirects, Messages from forms, Newsletter subscribers and Editor (whether Start is in the rail). Only the owner and admins see this panel.
Business or association — the Name, Business ID (Y-tunnus), Address, Phone, Email and What kind of place (for example A restaurant, An association or a club, Services; Automatic decides from the site) of the business or association behind the site. Search engines and maps show them with your site: with an address and an Opening hours section on a page, the site is a place people can visit, with its hours. The ready setups choose the kind of place themselves (a restaurant, an association, services). While the shop is open, the same details are in Shop › Settings › Your business.
Search engine check tells what keeps the pages from showing well in Google: pages without a search description, titles too long for search results (over 60 characters), products without a picture or a description, pictures without an alt text, the home page's share picture, a place's address and posts' pictures. The ones to fix are marked at the edge. Go there opens the field where it is fixed; the named items are links. When all is well, it says so.
The Sender name is the name order confirmations and form messages show as the sender, for example Savipaja Aalto. Left empty, it is the site name. The address stays no-reply@limopages.app; replies go to your Email for orders or to the person who filled in the form. Like the other site settings, it takes effect when you publish.
Plans and limits
A package is for a live site with its own address and email. The editor, the themes, the blog, the shop's catalogue, forms, both languages and the visit numbers are the same on every package. AI calls cost Limo Tools credits on every package — the same wallet as LimoStudio and LimoNote — and a first Site or Shop package adds credits to start with. Prices include VAT; paying yearly gives two months free. We take no cut of your shop's sales.
The packages
| Free | Site · €12/month, €120/year | Shop · €29/month, €290/year | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live sites | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Sites you can keep, drafts too | 3 | 5 | 10 |
| Address | name.limo.page | 1 own domain | 3 own domains |
| Mailboxes, read in LimoMail | — | 2 | 10 |
| Files per site | 200 MB | 2 GB | 10 GB |
| Largest video | 10 MB | 50 MB | 50 MB |
| Shop payments | Bank transfer, invoice, quotes | + Paytrail | + Paytrail |
| Webhooks and API keys | — | — | Yes |
| People besides the owner | — | 3 | 10 |
| AI credits to start | — | 300 | 600 |
| "Made with LimoPages" in the footer | Yes | No | No |
Choose, change or cancel your package in the Control panel › Overview: Choose opens the payment, Manage billing the card, the invoices and cancelling. An own domain is one name: www.example.fi and example.fi count as one. A domain bought through LimoPages is billed yearly at cost, besides the package. A site you work on for someone else counts on its owner's package, not yours; when it is handed over to you, it moves to yours.
Add-ons
On a Site or Shop package you can add an extra mailbox (€2/month, €20/year) and an extra live site (€6/month, €60/year) under Control panel › Add-ons. More is charged at once for the rest of the period; less takes effect at once, without a refund.
When a package ends
A cancelled package works to the end of the period you paid for, and while a payment is retried everything keeps working. After that there are 14 days of grace. Then:
- your sites stay online at their free name.limo.page address, with "Made with LimoPages" in the footer — nothing is unpublished or deleted;
- your own domain leads to the free address until you choose a package again;
- Paytrail leaves the checkout (bank transfer, invoice and quotes stay), and webhooks and API keys pause;
- no new mailboxes can be made; the ones you have are not removed without a word from us.
Sites published before the packages came have the Site package free for a while: the control panel shows until when.
Limits on every package
| Every package | |
|---|---|
| Pages | 200, with 25 sections each |
| Products and collections | 5,000 and 200; 12 pictures and 100 variants per product |
| Blog posts | 2,000 |
| Redirects | 2,000 |
| Domains per site | 5 |
| Size of one file | 10 MB (videos as above) |
Sites, files, orders and messages are stored on Cloudflare in the European Union. A published site sets no cookies of its own: the cart stays in the visitor's browser. Apps you add load from their companies' servers after your visitors' consent: see Apps.
For developers
Developers make themes and apps — for their own sites and client projects, or for every LimoPages site. Ask hello@limo.tools to be added: a developer's account sees Developers in the dashboard's top bar (/app/dev/). Everything uploaded is checked on the way in.
Only my sites or every site
Each upload chooses where it is for, like Shopify's custom and public apps:
- Only my sites — no review. You allow it on your own sites and on sites you are an admin of (a client's site you build); they use each new version at once. A new site you start with your own theme is allowed it by itself, and in the editor Allow on this site does the same. A site keeps it when you hand it over to the client. No other site can use it.
- Every site — a LimoPages reviewer approves each version first; then every site's theme picker or Apps panel has it. Your allowed sites still get your newest version at once.
The switch on each upload (Send for review / Only my sites) changes it later; the sites you allowed keep it either way.
Upload a theme
A theme is a folder of Liquid, JSON and CSS — no scripts and nothing loaded from other servers. It keeps the LimoPages theme contract: every section, setting and template of LimoPages' Starter theme, in English and Finnish, so a site can switch to it without losing anything. A theme that says "extends": "starter" in its theme.json carries only the files that differ; we send the Starter's folder and the contract on request.
Press Upload a theme folder, choose the folder (theme.json at its top) and Only my sites or Every site. If something breaks the contract, every reason is listed. Uploading the same id again makes a new version. Your theme shows in your editor's Theme › Change theme… marked Yours: Try draws your own pages with it, Allow on this site makes it usable there.
Upload an app
An app is a manifest in JSON, never code. It can add settings the site owner fills in, meta tags in <head>, a section with an iframe that loads on the visitor's click, and one script file of its own:

Press Upload an app, choose the file and where it is for. Your app shows in your Apps panel marked Yours: Allow on this site, then Add. Once approved for every site, it is in every site's Apps panel.
Review
A reviewer reads each version offered to every site (View), tries a theme in the editor, and presses Approve or Reject with a note the developer sees. An approved version replaces the earlier one for every site that uses it from the list. Take off the list stops new sites from choosing it; sites that chose it from the list fall back to the Starter theme, or the app stops showing — the sites you allowed keep it.
Troubleshooting
- Changed elsewhere — the draft was saved from another window or by another person. Choose Load theirs or Keep mine; see Saving, drafts and conflicts.
- Not saved: … — something in the page breaks a rule, most often custom code or a setting out of range. The message names it; Undo steps back to a saved state.
- Publishing works, but nobody can see the site — choose a web address in Site settings; the Publish panel says so until you do.
- A picture is missing after an upload — check the file is under 10 MB and the site under its 200 MB; the Files panel shows both.
- **The domain stays on Waiting for the TXT record** — the record is not visible yet or was added with a different name. Copy the name and value exactly; DNS changes can take up to an hour. On Cloudflare DNS, the CNAME must be DNS only.
- **A bought domain shows Stopped — the note under it says why. Retry** continues from where it stopped; a purchase that never went through cost nothing and can be bought again.
- Paytrail is switched on but buyers do not see it — the keys are not saved yet. Enter the merchant id and the secret and press Save keys.
- A product cannot be added to the cart — it is a draft, sold out, or has no price (sold on request).
- **The AI says Sign in with LimoNote** — the link signs you in again; the editor comes back where you were. Get more credits means the account's credits are used up.
- Forms and the cart do nothing in the preview — they work on the published site only; use View site or Private preview.
Privacy
Your account is your Limo Apps account; LimoPages stores your user id, name and email with the sites you are on. A site's draft, versions and files, its orders, the messages its forms receive and its people are stored on Cloudflare in the European Union. Payment secrets are stored encrypted and are never sent back to the browser. A published site sets no cookies of its own and loads nothing from third parties unless you add an app in Apps; then the cookie banner asks your visitors first, and the app loads from its company's servers. The cart is kept in the visitor's browser. Deleting a site deletes its draft, versions, files, orders and messages and frees its address. The AI receives the section, text or style you ask about and nothing else from the site.
